Wholesale!
Lately I've been getting a few repeat orders from the stores I wholesale to... this is so cool because it seems like most of them will make a few purchases a year. Now all I need to do is get more stores on board!

If anyone knows of any stores that might like to stock my jewellery let me know!

Oh and I don't do consignment. I've had a lot of requests for consignment but I just won't do it. It's too much effort to keep track of... there are too many issues to consider (shoplifters/lost product etc) and quite frankly my wholesale prices are cheap enough for stores to just buy the product outright! I have a range of different wholesale packages for a range of different budgets. :)

So any store suggestions let me know! :D

Do you want me to hook you up with that introduction to BB Retail? (they own Diva).

Ooh yeah I forgot about that! Sure! Sounds great! I'm thinking they'd probably want huge numbers and I'm still sorting out the best manufacturer but there's no harm talking about it all! I'd say I'll have the best manufacturer worked out within the next few months. :D

How do I get in touch with BB Retail?

I deal with the CEO of their property arm on a regular basis, so I will find out from him the best person for you to speak to.

Ok I just emailed Darren, I probably won't hear back until Friday as I just remembered he's in Perth at a conference. I just had a look on their website - www.diva.net.au - they are certainly growing at a rapid rate! I didn't realise they have alot of stores overseas as well - Russia, Germany, Canada, UK even 24 stores in Israel! they sell 24 million pieces a year....that blows my mind. I have only met Brett Blundy once (he owns BB Retail) but I must say I was thoroughly impressed, he seems like a genuinely decent guy. Its encouraging to know that he got his start operating a suburban record store 21 - at about 21 years of age he had the opportunity to buy it from a guy who was going broke - he sold everything he owned to buy it.

Wow that would be fantastic if they would stock my jewellery. I have seen similarly rockabilly styles in there with little cherries and dice and skulls etc. They don't seem to have any other labels though... everything has the Diva packaging. :/

I always love hearing how people started out.. it's very inspiring! I always figure if others can start from little and get big then there's no reason I can't too! :D

This place sells little books and stuff, has a retro theme, and has the best goddamn white chocolate cupcakes in the history of the world. Their coffee is also awesome. The staff dress up, too!

I think your new styles would be PERFECT for them.

Carousels Cupcakes and Coffeee.

They're right near Chermside shopping centre.

Yep, they sell a variety of things that have nothing to do with cupcakes, but fits into the retro theme of the cafe.

Awesome! That would be really helpful... strangely enough I've found the US market the hardest to get into of all! Once you're there if you see any cool stores I'm happy to send you a sample choker that you can help pimp me with! :D No pressure of course.

I'm going to be travelling for about 5 weeks in June/July and will be in Hong Kong, London, then NY and Houston. I'll keep my eyes peeled for anywhere I think would suit your product. We're going to tahiti on the way back but I'm not sure there would be much of an audience there :-)

PS - Of course no pressure to actually hassle them directly.. just me hearing about any stores is awesome in itself because most businesses are pretty easy to contact online these days anyway. :D

I'm not sure how much room I'll have for samples so its probably best if I collect details of anywhere which looks suitable. I'll have to convince Kate to bring me along to the next SnB so I can meet you guys! I don't really have anything crafty to bring though...

Oh no worries... whatever is easiest.

Oh you should come over for dinner sometime! I've been trying to get Kate and Darren to come over for dinner for a while but we've been totally out of sync.... all of you guys should come over at once! I am no chef (believe me) but I'm sure I could cook something... or we could even get chinese take away or something similar. :D

In Houston, check out the Galleria area - Westheimer and the surrounding blocks have all sorts of funky shops... and this one looks interesting Phintage

I used to spend several weeks a year in Houston and rarely get down there any more, but the shops were lots of fun. They have a crazy arts community as witnessed by the Orange Show

Not sure if you have tried these guys, but they have a lot of stores in Melbourne and Sydney. It is a place called Dangerfield.

They stock a lot of semi goth, punk and alternative type clothing that I think your jewellery would work with well. They do stock accessories and I think the quality and unique side of your work would be awesome for them.

Can't hurt to check them out.

No I don't think I'm in any stores in Seattle yet. I'd love to know some store names ...if I can find their websites it's easy to contact them but of course even just an email since I know some stores don't have a website.

Hrm. I am not a very trendy shopper but I think an area you might want to look into is Fremont. It's a trendy and unusual area.

Gosh I'm looking forward to Wintersun this weekend!!! I've been so damn busy making up heaps and heaps of stock so there's no way I could run out of stock there (cause that would be a bummer!).

It'll also be a relief after it's over and I can get back to other work like the website! Gosh I itching to get that shopping cart and all the proper pics and info of your corsets up there!
